Audi has unveiled and redesign again flagship executive class car model, it’s Audi A6 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Audi A6 comes with light body, sporty chassis and a wide array of new assistance and multimedia systems, the full-sized sedan is packed with innovative solutions in every area of technology.
The range of available engines and drive trains is equally extensive. Combining the power of a V6 with the fuel efficiency of a four-cylinder engine, the soon-to-be-available Audi A6 Hybrid will be one highlight of the lineup.
The new Audi A6 consists of aluminum and high-tech steels, rendering it exceedingly light, stiff and safe. State-of-the art design methods and materials ensure extremely low interior noise levels. Precision tuning of all components and systematic hydraulic damping in the axle and drivetrain bearings provide excellent vibrational comfort
The redesigned A6 has a conservative design that features LED taillights, an integrated trunk-lid spoiler, a dual exhaust system, and optional LED headlights. If that isn’t expressive enough, the optional S-Line package adds modified bumpers, a sport suspension, a faux rear diffuser, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin offers additional interior room as the car’s wheelbase has been stretched to measure 2910mm long. While that is certainly nice, we’re rather impressed by the cockpit’s fashionable styling and high-tech goodies such as a 1,300-watt Bang & Olufsen audio system and MMI navigation plus with internet connectivity.
Audi A6 comes with five different engines will be available at launch. The most efficient is a 2.0 TDI which has an average fuel consumption rating of 4.9 L/100 km (48.00 US mpg) and C02 emissions of 129 g/km. It produces 130 kW (177 PS) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, which allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds and top out at 228 km/h (142 mph).
The new Audi A6 features the logical ergonomics concept that distinguishes all of the brand’s models. A highly efficient automatic air conditioning system and the latest-generation MMI radio operating system are standard; Audi also offers an optional head-up display, which projects important information onto the windshield.
